H ere is an image featuring ornate Spanish influenced embellishments found at the Plaza in Kansas City. Lots of tile work and intricate detail can be experienced in the architecture all over the area. I have been making three or four photographic trips to the plaza each year, frequently accompanied by a group of students. Now that the days are beginning to get longer again, we are planning our first group shoot of the spring semester for Thursday.

Another of my many image themes is stairs and stair wells, a popular subject with many photographers, dating all the way back to early masterpieces by Frederick Evans. In today's example, there are a variety of surrounding shapes and colors that add interest. I waited for the person climbing the stairs to get to the very top before tripping the shutter.

“You can find pictures anywhere. It's simply a matter of noticing things and organizing them. You just have to care about what's around you and have a concern with humanity and the human comedy.” - Elliott Erwitt
