R ecently I photographed a series of numbers, zero through nine. The purpose was to use the number images as markers in the photostream of my student's work in Color Imaging 4200 to signify the point where one assignment ends and the next begins. All the images I decided to use for this purpose are shots of numbers painted on asphalt or concrete in various states of weather induced decay. This exercise had me looking at the ground, and I found this small cover to a Gas access juncture on a walk home from work. I considered it as a possible zero in the number series, but then changed my mind because of the 5 in the middle. But it seems to fit in with the circle/sphere motifs that I have been posted this month, so here it is for today.
