I am always on the lookout, gazing outside-in and inside-out. This applies to my physical surroundings and my response to the relationships of objects I encounter. This also applies to my self identity and how I view existence. I like compositions that simultaneously contemplate both the external and the internal. Today's image is an attempt to illustrate these thoughts while including a human element integrated into the representation.

“With photography a new language has been created. Now for the first time it is possible to express reality by reality. We can look at an impression as long as we wish, we can delve into it and, so to speak, renew past experiences at will.” - Ernst Haas

In the visual arts, photography has a unique rapport with the concept of reality. As photographers are we making images of existing reality, or creating our own non-existent realty? Do we aim our cameras outward to the accessible world or turn them inward towards our souls? Are these two approaches mutually exclusive or complementary?
