Silent stills from movies
Stubbornly blind us to the landscape

I like the idea of simultaneously seeing what is in front and what is behind. Thus I am attracted to windows, partly seeing inside and partly seeing the reflection of the outside. This is another of my photographic “series”. In this image I am particularly fascinated by the subtle color relationships blending different inner and outer regions.

"Life must be lived forwards, but can only be understood backwards."-Soren Kierkegaard

These studies of window reflections can be considered a kind of found collage - the assemblage of different forms creating a new whole. Or perhaps this is décollage - instead of building up an image from different parts, these reflection composites maybe are created by optically obscuring or otherwise removing portions of the original.

Collage was often called the art form of the 20th century, but this was never fully realized. So I add my small part to the effort in the 21st century.
