A s I was surfing around Flickr, I came across the work of “brevity” who has written a program to blend 50 random images which share the same tag. I was intrigued by this effect, images distilled into a dreamy haze, and decided to experiment using image editing tools. Today's image is averaged from twenty four IOD's, many of them posted earlier this month. In addition to using Photoshop to format and level adjust the individual images, I used a little program named “Image Stacker” to blend the images.

As I began working on this, I showed my early results to several students and colleagues, all of whom expressed favorable enthusiasm. So you may be seeing more of this technique in the near future.

“I must keep on trying, just to keep the experiment going until I get tired of it all. Even if the last result is not necessarily the best, I stop when my interest in the problem wanes.” - Pablo Picasso
